Biography

Debra has taught in universities for 12 years with full time lecturing positions at Charles Sturt and James Cook Universities. Debra is a highly skilled actor, teacher/ director in improvised and group-devised performance, with a substantial history of successful projects in Tasmania, Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland beginning her career in the 80’s Melbourne as an actor with the Bow T.I.E. (Theatre In Education) Co. then Artistic Director. Debra is also a talented director, choreographer and vocal director working on many student and professional theatre productions throughout Australia and a respected voice consultant to the television industry and corporate sector. As a multi-skilled practitioner and theorist Debra’s most recent projects are in collaboration with multi-media specialists creating synergies between image, sound, movement and text.
