Top Five Enrolment Tips
You must follow the Steps to Getting Started on the JCU homepage to complete your admission and enrolment at JCU. We have compiled these top five tips to help you along the way.
Plan first
Download your Course Enrolment Planner and plan your subject choices before logging into eStudent. You need to jot down the following details for each subject you wish to enrol in:
-
the attendance mode – how the subject is delivered e.g. internal, external, block, limited or placement/work experience
-
the study period - when you intend to study
-
the location (campus) – where you will be studying at.
Planning will make enrolling through eStudent much easier. Check if you need to choose a major first before enrolling in your subjects.
Actually Enrol
As you select each subject offering it is added to your Potential Enrolments List (that’s the academic hat in the top right hand corner of eStudent), and this can be seen as your enrolment ‘shopping trolley’. You have to click on the academic hat to open your Potential Enrolments List and choose the I Want To… “Actually Enrol in the components in my Potential Enrolments List” button to ‘buy’ the items in your ‘shopping trolley’. You have not enrolled in the subject until you do this.
One at a time
Enrol one subject at a time from your Potential Enrolments List (except for co-requisites). If you have not met requisite requirements of one subject when you ‘actually’ enrol, no other subjects in your Potential Enrolments List will be enrolled.
Check your Current Enrolment
To be absolutely sure you have enrolled or withdrawn from your subjects correctly, always check your Current Enrolment in the left hand menu on eStudent after you have made enrolment changes.
Refer to eStudent HELP
If you get stuck, there is HELP linked to each page in eStudent to help you through the process. If you’re not familiar with the terms used in your Course Enrolment Planner or eStudent, check JCU’s Enrolment Terminology
If you’re still stuck, email eStudentSupport@jcu.edu.au for assistance in navigating eStudent or Infohelp@jcu.edu.au if you’re unable to access eStudent.
