Changing or withdrawing from subjects

You can enrol in 2008 subjects for each Study Period online via eStudent up to the census date for that study period. After this, you will need to contact your faculty office, and a late fee may apply.

You can enrol in advance in any subject/s offered in this calendar year.

You can withdraw from subjects for each Study Period online via eStudent up to two weeks prior to the end date of the Study Period. Penalties may apply – see below.

Will I have a financial penalty?

Australian and New Zealand students

If you are a new student, you will incur a $30 late fee if you have not enrolled in any subjects before the first day of the study period.

If you wish to withdraw from a subject, you are advised to consider the census date (after which you must pay for the subject/s in which you are enrolled) and the last date to withdraw without academic penalty (after which you will also receive a result of 'fail' for the subject/s).

International students

Please refer to the JCU Tuition Fee Policy for On-shore and Distance International Students, provided to you as part of your offer, for details on the refund policy. To avoid financial penalty, variations to subject enrolments must be made in writing to your Faculty Office (Townsville) or Student Enquiry Centre (Cairns) by close of business on the relevant census date. If you totally withdraw from a course, a written notice of withdrawal stating reasons should be sent to the International Student Centre. The date of the written notification is significant as it impacts on tuition fee liability and any subsequent refunds.

Students from the United States of America in receipt of U.S. Federal Aid MUST contact the Federal Aid Administrator at the International Student Centre prior to making enrolment changes as study mode restrictions apply.

All students should refer to information on census dates (after which you will be financially liable for the subjects in which you are enrolled), last dates for addition or substitution of subjects without approval of subject coordinator and last date for withdrawal without academic penalty (after which you receive a result of fail for the subjects).
