What if I want to defer my studies?

Deferment is available for 12 months, or for six months in the case of mid-year entry, to most new students who have applied through QTAC. Any applicant wishing to defer should respond to QTAC indicating the ‘defer' option. You do not return your Application for Enrolment form to James Cook University.

If you have been offered a place in Medicine, Music, Photography or Visual Arts you will have received separate instructions regarding deferment.

Postgraduate students should choose the ‘defer' option on their Response to Offer letter and return the letter to JCU at the address indicated on the form.

International students who decide not to study in 2007 must also advise the International Student Centre.
