Elizabeth completed the International Baccalaureate at Melbourne’s Wesley College in 2000 and went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne. During her time at the University of Melbourne, Elizabeth wrote for the university newspaper Farrago, studied American history and politics on the ‘Searching for the American Dream’ study tour to Boston, New York and Washington in 2002 and received a scholarship to undertake classical history study in Italy and Greece.

In 2004, Elizabeth moved to Perth and began a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Western Australia. In 2004, Elizabeth involved in UWA’s charity newspaper Prosh and the Public Affairs Council Social Justice Week, editing the Social Justice Handbook. In 2005, Elizabeth was appointed the Editor of the UWA student newspaper, Pelican. She also served as the Equity Officer of the UWA Law Students’ Society before being elected President in 2006. In 2006, she was also a member of the UWA Student Guild Statutes Committee and the Media Committee, and acted as a National Councillor for the Australian Law Students’ Association.

In 2006, Elizabeth was awarded the Cruikshank Routley Memorial Prize for the student who has made the greatest contribution to campus life at UWA. In 2007, she served as a student editor of the UWA Law Review. 

In 2007, she worked on the World Aware project with the Red Cross Youth Advisory Council, which helped Sudanese refugees integrate into Perth society, improve their communication skills and celebrate their artistic and musical background.

Elizabeth is currently the Chair of the City of Perth Youth Advisory Council, which represents young people at a local and state government level and also organises events. A key project she was instrumental in organising was a state-wide YACTION Forum, which brought together representatives from shires all over WA for a weekend of inspirational lectures, consultations and professional development workshops.

Before the Youth Representative adventures began, Elizabeth was completing her final law unit at UWA while working full time as a professional legal assistant to the State Solicitor for Western Australia.

Elizabeth is a keen writer, and was regularly published in The West Australian while undertaking work experience in 2004.
