Student Equity Support and MTB grants

Student Equity Support Grants

Student Equity Support Grants are available to all undergraduate students at James Cook University, either full-time, part-time, on campus or off-campus.

The Student Equity Support Grant has been established to assist students with the purchase of textbooks. Each grant consists of a credit redeemable from the JCU Bookshop in Townsville or Cairns valued at up to $400, based on study load (special arrangements can be made for off-campus students and for students enrolled in Visual Arts courses).

MTB Grants

MTB Grants are available for students who are 2nd year or later in an undergraduate course at James Cook University, either full-time or part-time, on campus or off-campus.

The MTB Grant has been established to assist students with the purchase of textbooks. It consists of a credit valued at up to a $500 based on study load, redeemable from the JCU Bookshop in Townsville and Cairns (special arrangements can be made for off-campus students and for students enrolled in Visual Arts courses).

Students are eligible to apply for a Student Equity Support Grant or an MTB Grant each semester (funding dependant) even if:

  • You were previously successful in receiving this Grant (at any time)

  • You are a recipient of any grant, bursary or scholarship (however you must disclose the amount in Section D of the application form)
