The Commonwealth government’s OS-HELP loans scheme provides financial assistance to eligible students who undertake part of their course of study overseas. These loans are available for:
- a period of up to six months of overseas study
- an amount between $2,000 and $5,095 inclusive for 2006
OS-HELP assistance may be used to cover expenses associated with overseas study, such as airfares, accommodation and other travel or settling expenses.
Students must submit applications by the OS-HELP application closing date:
- 1 September for study commencing overseas from 1 January to 30 April
- 15 January for study commencing overseas from 1 May to 31 August
- 1 May for study commencing overseas from 1 September to 31 December
The estimated offer dates for the above application closing dates are:
