The First Year Experience (FYE) is a term used to describe students' experiences in their first year at university.

We have collated a number of FYE online resources.

JCU aims to promote a university-wide, coordinated approach to systematically research and monitor the first year student experience at JCU, and to coordinate and strengthen the range of first year activities (support, technical, administrative and academic) in Faculties and Divisions.

The First Year Experience Questionnaire (FYEQ) was conducted in 2006 and 2008. View the reports below.

The student and staff checkpoints (below) were developed to help with transition to university study and university teaching.
