First Year Experience
The First Year Experience Project intent is to promote a university-wide, co-ordinated approach to systematically research and monitor the first year student experience at JCU, and to co-ordinate and strengthen the range of first year activities (support, technical, administrative and academic) in faculties and divisions.
First Year Experience Questionnaire
The First Year Experience Questionnaire (FYEQ) was conducted in 2006 and 2008. The information gained from over 1400 first year students provides a comprehensive insight into the experiences of first year students at JCU. FYEQ reports are available to staff via the First Year Experience Community.
JCU staff wishing to conduct additional analysis of data collected by the First Year Experience Project through the FYEQ are encouraged to email: fye@jcu.edu.au
First Year Experience Community
The First Year Experience Project is continuing to maintain the online community established as part of Arrive, Stay and Succeed. The online community is a useful repository of current research, information and resources relating to the First Year Experience.
