Aims
These awards aim to encourage and reward staff for outstanding contributions to student learning.
Each year, up to three citations each valued at $4,000 will be made from each of the four faculties at JCU (i.e. $12,000 per Faculty). At least two must be granted per faculty each year.
Additionally, one annual citation of $10,000 will be made to the individual or team considered to have made the most outstanding contribution to student learning – the Vice-Chancellor's Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning. This award will be selected from the Faculty recipients for that year.
The top ten Faculty recipients will be ranked and nominated as JCU nominees for the Carrick Awards for Australian University Teaching: Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning.
Recipients may elect to receive the award personally, or have the funds directed to a University 'Faculty fund', or any combination of the above. Where money is taken personally, taxation is payable on the amount and will be deducted by the University before payment.
