Carrick Awards for Australian University Teaching
The Carrick Awards for Australian University Teaching are highly competitive and involve an intensive selection process to assess the achievements of applicants. They are awarded in eight categories: five discipline categories; a category for Indigenous education (the Neville Bonner awards); a category for early career academics; and a priority area category.
The priority area is announced annually by the Carrick Institute. In 2006/07 the priority area was team teaching. In 2008/09 it will be work integrated learning
The annual Awards for University Teaching will be:
-
210 Carrick Citations for Outstanding contribution to Student Learning valued at $10 000
-
40 Carrick Awards for Teaching Excellence at $25 000
-
The Prime Minister's award valued at $50 000.
