Teaching with technology

The Teaching with technology workshops explore how contemporary tools and technologies can be effectively used to enable, support and extend teaching and learning in Higher Education.

Each session combines the pedagogical and the technical by introducing a teaching issue and illustrating practical ways in which learning technologies can be used to enhance the students’ learning experience.

Face to face workshops are available in Cairns and Townsville and are also recorded and made available online as video-on-demand along with a selection of materials used in the workshop and related online resources.

Workshops

• Engaging students in blended learning environments
  Presented as part of the 2013 Teaching Induction program, this workshop explores the themes of student engagement and digital literacy and suggests complementary online tools and activities.

• Five effective ways to use digital media in LearnJCU
  Discover how digital media such podcasts, YouTube, web cam video, media enhanced PowerPoints and streaming media can be used as a tool to engage ‘net gen’ students. (Video available)
  
  

• Captivate your students
  Learn how to use Adobe Captivate to import your PowerPoint slides, add audio, video and captions to your presentation, and publish your project as both a standalone presentation and as a web site in LearnJCU.
