Teaching and Learning Development

The activities of the Directorate of Teaching and Learning Development (TLD) are divided into a number of sections. They include Continuing Professional Development, Learning Technologies, Learning Skills and Evaluation of Teaching. The Unit supports a number of projects, including the First Year Experience project and the Sessional Staffing project. It also supports projects under ALTC funding including the Distributive Leadership project and facilitating a whole-of-university approach to Indigenous curriculum development. Professional development includes seminars for staff, Teaching Induction programs, the Graduate Certificate of Education (Tertiary Teaching), and support for applications for teaching awards.

The Directorate operates on both the Townsville and Cairns campuses in each of these areas. Within each of the Directorate sections there is an ongoing program of activities, workshops, consultations and reporting undertaken by the team.
