As the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, University Services, Heather leads university strategy in the areas of equity and diversity, engagement and communications, the student experience, information and communication technology, and international education.
She is responsible for the leadership of the University Services Division which comprises the following directorates:

Heather has held senior roles in government and academic institutions in Australia, Canada and the United States. Prior to her appointment at JCU, she was the Foundation Librarian/Executive Director at the University of the Sunshine Coast; and held previous positions at the University of Sydney, and Duke University.
