Accelerate your research with ON, powered by CSIRO - ON Prime DNA, Defence and Cyber themed programmes

@JCU Accelerate your research with ON, powered by CSIRO - ON Prime DNA, Defence and Cyber themed programmes

Research Services, your gateway for commercialisation and industry partnerships at JCU, is excited to make the CSIRO ON Prime program available to JCU researchers.

Applications are now open for the inaugural ON Prime DNA program to be held across various venues in Northern QLD (Townsville, Cairns, Rockhampton etc), ON Prime Defence and On Prime Cyber programs, designed to help researchers translate their big ideas into real-life impact. These ON Prime experiences will be delivered simultaneously across Australia from September 2017, in locations in North Queensland locations and other cities dependant on applicant demand. More details on the ON programs can be found by clicking here.

ON Prime is a part-time pre-accelerator that brings together Australia’s brightest researchers—that’s where you come in—with leading entrepreneurs, business and commercialisation specialists and inspiring mentors. Together, you will test paths for your IP and/or technology through a process of customer discovery and market validation, and unlock your entrepreneurial nous required to take your work to the next level. The best bit? There is no cost to you for participating and there are no strings attached – all IP and equity remains the property of the team or their sponsoring institute. There is travel funding available for high performing teams which can be used to subsidise travel to locations where sessions of the ON Prime programs are to be heldTeams of 2-6 are encouraged (at least one person needs to be research employee of JCU) and may also include collaborators, PhD students as well as JCU Innovation & Commercialisation team members.

The commitment to ON Prime program is approximately five face-to-face sessions (six days in total) in host cities/hubs where the program will be delivered concurrently (exact locations will be advised) and ten hours' commitment per team member across eight weeks. In addition to this, each program culminates in a final 'Showcase' pitching event that profiles teams and their technology. Click here for FAQs about the ON program.

Applications are now open and close at 8pm (AET) Friday 28th July 2017 so, if you have a technology that you believe could benefit from the ON Prime program, contact the I&C team on so we can help facilitate access to the program.
