Call for judges and volunteers: ATSIAP Challenge

From Wednesday 19 July to Friday 21 July, the Education Academic Group will host the ATSIAP Challenge for the Department of Education and Training and they are currently looking for judges and student volunteers to help each day.

Support on any or all of the days is welcome.

Wednesday: Indigenous Primary school students

Thursday and Friday: Indigenous Secondary students

Location: Building 45

There will be approximately 20 schools participating from across North Queensland.

What is ATSIAP?

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Aspiration Program started in 1987/88 in Townsville. It allows participating schools to showcase the academic and creative abilities of their Indigenous students.

Heatley State School won last year, closely followed by Kelso State School. In 2016, Mt Isa’s Good Shepherd Catholic School was the front runner for the Senior Schools and all eyes will be on them to see if they can repeat that impressive performance.

Please contact Max Lenoy for more information or to volunteer. This opportunity is aimed at Education students but students from other disciplines will be considered (you must have a current Blue Card).
