Free parenting seminars

@JCU Free parenting seminars

Free Triple P parenting seminars will be held in Cairns and Townsville on 29 February and 1 March.

The seminars are part of the State Government’s $6.6 million Triple P initiative, which is giving all Queensland mums and dads free access to parenting support.

Back by 30 years of research, Triple P – Positive Parenting Program helps make raising children easier. It helps parents manage their child’s behaviour, emotions and development to build strong relationships, communicate well and encourage the kind of behaviour they want to see.

The Cairns and Townsville seminars will be hosted by Professor Matt Sanders, Triple P founder and University of Queensland Parenting and Family Support Centre director. During the 90-minute seminars, Professor Sanders will give parents a range of strategies to help them raise happy, resilient families.

Parents can also sign up for a free eight-week online course they can complete at their own pace.
