@JCU Friday August 26, 2016 is Wear It Purple Day
Hi Staff and Students,
Friday 26 August 2016 is Wear It Purple Day.
Anyone, anywhere! Whether you identify somewhere on the rainbow spectrum, or someone you know does, or you just believe everyone deserves to be proud of who they are ... join in, and wear it purple!!
Wear It Purple Day is a celebration of diversity. It encourages conversation about bullying and discrimination and raises awareness about challenges facing rainbow young people. Wearing purple demonstrates to sex, sexually and gender diverse students, staff and the wider community that diversity is valued and everyone should be included.
Wear it Purple has a simple message - “You have the right to be proud of who you are!”
Everyone has the right to live and learn in a safe and supportive environment where diversity is valued and everyone feels included. Wear It Purple Day is an opportunity to make this commitment known in your educational community!
