Background from the Castle Hill Club President and JCU Alumnus, Roger Desailly:

The Castle Hill Club is a recently established Brisbane based group/network of ex-Townsville residents, now living and working in Brisbane and holding senior roles in a range of industry sectors and  businesses, who still hold and maintain strong family, friends and other  business, sporting and economic investment ties/links to the city.

Club members have a vested interest in and strong desire to see the city not only recover from the impacts of several recent economic and business confidence headwinds, but to prosper and grow, on the back of a number
of recent major infrastructure project announcements and federal and state government funding commitments.

The members of the Club are committed, from a Brisbane base, to using the combined and collective influence of their local, state, national and international business, community, sporting, political and social networks, contacts and capital to facilitate the securing of high profile sporting, entertainment and business events, economic investment and innovative new business opportunities for the city of Townsville, and promoting the city wherever and whenever possible as a desirable destination to live, learn, work and play.

Through leveraging its international business and sporting networks, the Club has recently secured the opportunity to bring the legendary West Indian Cricketing Icon Sir Garfield Sobers up to Townsville, to speak at a Sports Lunch at the Ignatius Park College Function Hall on Friday 9th of December.

This Sports Lunch, sponsored by the Pickerings Auto Group, will be the first of several other such high profile
events planned for Townsville, and will also act as the launch of the
Castle Hill Club in Townsville.
