@JCU Meet JCU's new Chaplain - Crystal Greive
Welcome Crystal Greive, JCU's new Chaplain, who started on January 3 this year.
Based in Townsville, Crystal also looks after Cairns campus by phone and email, and will travel up there a few times each year.
Ms Greive provides pastoral care and support for all students and staff, particularly in regard to spiritual or faith-related matters.
The JCU Chaplaincy service, part of the Student Equity Wellbeing team, provides a multi-faith support service.
Ms Greive also manages bookings for the Chaplaincy building, located on JCU's Townsville campus (building 131) and the demand has been steady, she said.
"There are various faith groups who want to pray or worship, or use a room for bible studies, as well as various meditation groups, singing or music. Rooms are available to book for any staff or student groups," she said
"There is no Wi-Fi, purely because this is a place of quiet meditation, prayer and worship. Every religion tends to do that differently and we welcome everyone."
To reach Ms Greive, or to book a room, email is preferred: firstname.lastname@example.org, or tel: 07 4781 5447 (Mon-Wed only)
