This week we start welcoming almost 750 undergraduate students, who will start at JCU’s Townsville campus mid year, including more than 220 international students.
More than 40 postgraduate students will also start, and across the Townsville and Cairns campuses, 168 external students as well as almost 240 external postgraduate students will also begin their studies. These figures may change as the start of classes nears (July 25).
This week (July 18-22) is O Week, or Orientation Week. It is the official start to university studies and it is packed with both essential and fun activities. Many social activities are also being held during Week One of classes next week (July 25-29).
The academic orientation activities include enrolment help, issuing of student ID cards, course introductions, campus tours, IT essentials, assignment tips, budgeting, and career advice.
The week is also packed with workshops and opportunities to meet staff and other students.
