Queen's Birthday Honours for JCU staff and alumni

We extend our congratulations to the James Cook University staff and alumni who have been recognised in the 2018 Queen's Birthday Honours list. These include:

Dr John Byrne AM, for significant service to library and information management through initiatives to develop access to global and Indigenous resources, JCU Librarian 1979-1984.

Dr Catherine Day OAM, for service to education, JCU Outstanding Alumni 2011.

Professor Stephen Margolis OAM, for service to rural medicine, and to medical education, JCU Researcher Professor 2011-2013, Researcher 2005-2012.

Elizabeth Massey OAM, for service to the Indigenous community of the Northern Territory, Adjunct Lecturer, School of Public Health, Medical and Veterinary Sciences since 2016.

Dr Jacqueline Mein OAM, for service to medicine, and to community health, Adjunct Associate Professor, College of Medicine and Dentistry since 2013.

Professor Geoffrey Phillips OAM, for service to regaining, to minerals exploration, and to education, Professor and Director, Economic Geology Research Unit (EGRU) 1990- 1993.
