@JCU Sexual Violence Awareness Month
Sexual Violence Awareness Month is held during October each year to raise community awareness about sexual violence and to promote the support options available to people affected by sexual assault and sexual abuse, and uphold a clear message that sexual violence will not be tolerated in our communities.
In Townsville, JCU will be hosting the Sexual Assault Support Service’s banner (Tears Tell Stories by Karen Doolan) raising awareness of the impacts of Sexual Assault on us all and the services provided by the Sexual Assault Response Team. An event to promote the service and Sexual Assault Awareness Month will be held in the outdoor auditorium of Education Central on 17 October at 10.30am. All members of the JCU community are welcome to attend.
In Cairns, JCU will be working with the Student Association and the Cairns Sexual Assault Service towards delivery of an event with further details to be provided.
