ASFF celebrates innovation and excellence in filmmaking from around the world, and is a platform students and graduates at James Cook University to showcase their talent to wider audiences, build new contacts at the festival and promote their work to leading industry figures in support of their career.
Previously we have had many successful entries from universities across the world, including University of Canberra (Australia), Academy of Media Arts Cologne (Germany), Chapman University (USA), Filmacademy Vienna (Austria), Veritas University (Costa Rica) and many more. We would be delighted to showcase James Cook University’s filmmaking talent in 2017.
The festival is a hub for industry, hosting over 25 masterclasses, panel discussions and numerous networking sessions, offering filmmakers the chance to build their contacts list, connect with representatives from major film organisations and promote their work.
ASFF accepts all genres: advertising, animation, artists’ film, comedy, dance, documentary, drama, experimental, fashion, music video and thriller. Running times up to 30 minutes.
