It is almost time to launch this year’s academic promotion cycle; however there have been some minor amendments to the academic promotion procedure which require approval. 

In the meantime, I want to draw your attention to the upcoming information and workshop sessions taking place in July and August on Townsville and Cairns campuses (including Video-link to other areas), so that you are able to mark these important dates in your calendars:

Tuesday 12th July – 11am to 12 noon

  • Presentation to College Deans, Directors, Deputy Vice Chancellors and Academic Mentors on the promotion process.

Thursday 14th July – 10am to 11am

  • Presentation to ALL potential candidates on the promotion process

Tuesday 19th July – 11am to 12noon

  • Presentation to ALL potential candidates on the promotion process

Thursday 21st July - 11am to 12 noon

  • Presentation to College Deans, Directors, Deputy Vice Chancellors and Academic Mentors on the promotion process.

Thursday 28th July - 11am to 12noon

  • Facilitated Workshop to All Candidates on putting together the Research Component of your Application.

Friday 29th July - 10am to 11am

  • Facilitated Workshop to All Candidates on putting together the Teaching and Learning component of your Application.

Wednesday 3rd August – 12noon to 3pm - Cairns (video links to Mount Isa and Mackay)

  • Facilitated Workshop to potential female candidates on the promotion process

Friday 5th August – 12noon to 3pm - Townsville (video link to Singapore)

  • Facilitated Workshop to potential female candidates on the promotion process

These annual events are intended to provide participants with practical and strategic advice and information on preparing and writing a promotion application - whether you are applying in 2016 or in the future.   Participants are asked to prepare for the workshops by reviewing the academic promotion information available through the HR website.
