Roger is the Principal at Total Project Group Architects, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at JCU. Roger is currently leading the review of the Cairns CBD and Esplanade Masterplan and consulted for Council on the Cairns City Height and Impact Study, leading to the national award winning Tropical Urbanism Policy. His portfolio of public work includes the Cairns Museum School of Arts Building, Tanks Arts Centre Redevelopment, the Cairns Regional Art Gallery, the Cairns Cruise Liner Terminal, Cooktown Foreshore Redevelopment and consultation on numerous public art installations. Roger’s award-winning private residences and work in the tourism industry demonstrate a broad palette of design skills. Works include the Peninsula Boutique Hotel, the Portsea Resort and Portico Shops in Port Douglas, Restaurant “Vivo” and Amphora Resort and Spa in Palm Cove. He is a Councilor on the Australian Institute of Architects Queensland Chapter and chairs the seven-region, Regional Chairs’ Committee. Previously he has held a seat on the Cairns Regional Council’s Urban Design Advisory Board where he also held the position of occasional Chair and is passionate about the public space of Cairns.
