Accommodation Short-term and Homestay accommodation
A homestay can be a good option if you are needing some extra support settling into university life, and maybe even living in a new state or country for the first time.
Living with an Australian family in their home will provide you with the opportunity to experience genuine Australian culture and lifestyle, meet new friends and practice your English skills.
ASAP Homestays facilitate the placements and each family is interviewed before being approved to accept a student.
A homestay package typically includes two meals per day, a private bedroom with basic study facilities and access to other household amenities. Most are located on a bus route to JCU.
The term of your stay is negotiable but usually runs for a minimum of four weeks. This provides students with the opportunity to ease into university life and become familiar with their surroundings before committing to a share house or private rental.
ASAP’s homestays have been approved by the Commission for Children and Young People. For further information, contact ASAP Homestays or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
