Townsville On-Campus Accommodation

JCU Townsville offers five on-campus accommodation options for up to 1,200 students – three are operated by UniLodge and two by JCU affiliated private colleges.

Living on-campus is a fun and exciting way to experience university life. There is always something happening with plenty of social and cultural activities to keep you entertained. You’ll enjoy fun orientation activities, block functions, concerts, valedictory balls, international food nights and themed events, just to name a few.

Students who live on-campus receive support from a Residential Assistant (RA) – a senior student who has experienced residential living and undertaken a leadership course to supervise and assist the residents. There is usually one RA assigned to between 12 and 20 students. RAs are supported by Senior RAs and Principals of the colleges, all living on campus to provide 24-hour support, should you need it.

All the on-campus accommodation residences are different and offer a range of living and support options to suit the needs and requirements of our students. It is best to do your research to find the one that ticks most, if not all, of your boxes. JCU's on-campus accommodation is very popular so we suggest you apply as early as possible so you don’t miss out.

JCU Halls of Residence

The focus is on providing a safe environment conducive to study and ability to develop social skills. The three halls provide a variety of living styles while providing a strong support structure catering to the needs of the residents such as quiet areas, female only floors/units and catering to all dietary requirements.

Affiliated Colleges

The two Affiliated Colleges are all located on-campus at JCU and offer a home away from home. They provide a safe and supportive environment to ensure that students not only strive to achieve their very best but also enjoy their time at JCU.
