James Cook University (JCU) is continuously looking for opportunities to increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses within our supply chain.
If you are an organisation that supplies goods that you believe may be of interest to the University, and are owned and operated by Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, please look out for opportunities to tender for contracts.
We are proud to have been supplied with goods and services from the below organisations that are members of Supply Nation. Supply Nation is an initiative that integrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Small and Medium sized enterprises into the supply chains for major Australian companies and Government agencies.
It is also a requirement that if purchasing with funding from the Australian Government worth more than $5 million ($6 million for construction), in our region where we have a significant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, then our suppliers must demonstrate commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait lslander employment. JCU’s new “Science Place” which is planned for 2016 is an example of such a purchase arrangement.
