Bama Nguma-Barra Indigenous Student Association

The Centre Student Support Bama Nguma-Barra Indigenous Student Association

Bama Nguma-Barra Indigenous Student Association (BNBISA) is based at JCU's Cairns Campus.

It was formed in 2010 and affiliated with the JCU Student Association to provide a formal body to represent, advocate and support Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are Association members.

The Association also provides effective peer support and mentoring to Cairns based Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Its services are crucial to managing student retention and providing a safe space to build and maintain a cohesive learning environment.
