Research Areas * Select all that apply. You are required to discuss how your research focuses on your chosen areas in your written submission.

The written statement should address the following:

  1. Academic Name / Name of Research Team;
  2. Background and Summary (max 500 words):
    Outlining the background and plain English summary of the project. This section should address why the project is important, needed and likely to result in significant advancement in knowledge and understanding of the issue and/or practical improvements in the way the issue/s are managed;
  3. Research Areas (40% weighting) (max 250 words)
    Discuss how your research focuses on the research areas marked above.
  4. Reputation and Research Environment (20% weighting) (max 250 words):
    Briefly discuss the reputation of your research team, research outputs and the relevant infrastructure you have access to that will facilitate your ability to deliver the proposed outcomes
  5. Next Steps to Grow Funding for this Project (20% weighting) (max 250 words):
    Outline how this seed-funding will assist with your next steps to grow funding for your project.
  6. Amount Requested (10% weighting) (250-500 words):
    Outlining the amount requested (maximum of $10,000) and planned use of the funds which is rigorous, achievable, innovative, and compatible with time left in candidature. This section should include details about approaches to sampling and a time frame of the project schedule;
  7. Involvement of Student Researchers (10% weighting) (max 200 words):
    Discuss how your research involves early career academics, student researchers and undergraduate students?
