Employment is assessed on the level of skill required for the job and your length of service. A minimum of six months full-time equivalent paid employment is required. This can be with one employer or more. Your employment does not need to be relate to the course you are applying for. Be sure to include details of your employment in your application.
The STAT is a two-hour aptitude test that assists applicants 18 years and over demonstrate their potential for tertiary study. It is designed to assess a range of competencies commonly considered important for successful tertiary study and the results can be combined with formal qualifications to further improve your chances of an offer.
JCU has a number of bridging subjects available at the Townsville and Cairns campuses to assist applicants with meeting pre-requisites.
The Tertiary Access Course (TAC) is a pathway course recommended for people who are 18 years and over, didn’t finish high school, didn’t pass high school English, and feel they are not prepared for university study.
The intensive course provides students with the skills to successfully transition to a diploma or a degree. The course is six months full-time (or one year part time), and is offered on campus in Townsville or Cairns.
A university diploma is a great way to boost your skills and career prospects. With a diploma, you’ll get a formal qualification and credit towards future study if you wish to continue at university.
The Diploma of Higher Education provides you with a pathway to a degree, and you can expect specialist support. You can study a range of programs, depending on your destination degree.
If your OP or selection rank is not sufficient for entry to your preferred course, then you may want to consider options that improve your rank, such as another degree, a diploma course, or by completing a post-secondary qualification (Certificate III or higher).
