Research

I am broadly interested in the evolutionary ecology of plants. My main focus of research is on the rapid evolution of locally adapted traits of invasive species across large biogeographical regions, with a special focus on reproduction, reproductive systems, and seed ecology.

Biogeographic comparisons provide important insights into invasive ecology, with important scientific and management implications. Local adaptation and reproductive isolation can occur at fastest rates than it was previously thought and have significant implications for the understanding of allopatry and speciation processes, as well as for the understanding of invasive dynamics.
