Position Description

The DocuCare position is a proactive role ensuring the smooth operation and print quality for all students and staff at JCU. DocuCare staff are responsible for replacement of consumables and paper as well as preventative maintenance on all multi-function devices (MFDs). They also provide training and are available onsite for any problems and queries that students and staff may have.

Selection Criteria

While there is no specific selection criteria for the role it is beneficial that the applicant have a basic understanding of print processes and the applications used by staff and students. The majority of the role is learnt over time as there are many variables in regards to the number of MFDs and different users at JCU.

The Student Mentor Program Support Officer is a student employment opportunity which will assist in the recruitment, training and ongoing support of a large group of volunteer student mentors under the routine direction of the Manager of Student Transitions and Careers. This peer-led role will also support transition programs and retention initiatives involving student mentors.

Essential

  1. Current JCU Student Mentor and JCU undergraduate student with an overall GPA of 5.0 or above.
  2. Demonstrated ability to cultivate productive and collaborative networks with a range of stakeholders.
  3. Demonstrated ability to create and deliver presentations for large groups.
  4. Understanding of issues impacting on student success and retention in higher education.
  5. Demonstrated well-developed written, oral communication and interpersonal skills, including cross-cultural communication skills and digital literacy skills for multimedia promotion.

Desirable

  1. Demonstrated experience in a leadership role in a volunteer program or organisation.
