Dr Peter Hartin

Dr Peter Hartin has been associated James Cook University since 2009 and has an academic, research and professional background in Nursing and Midwifery. Peter is currently employed as a Senior Lecturer in nursing and is passionate about the development of nursing education to ensure nursing workforce readiness. His mix of academic and industry experience gives him an applied approach to his research. His PhD study, Bullying in nursing: Trapped in history, examined how bullying in the nursing profession in Australia has changed over four decades and why it has persisted. He found that the factors that contribute to the emergence of this phenomenon changed according to context and over time.

Peter's current research projects focus on Perspectives of students and staff when using email communication and using online video feedback to enhance the assessment experience.
