Recent research in the Narrative Psychology Lab focuses on developing empirically based narrative methods for grounding studies of personality development within a 'dialogical' or 'multi-voiced' model of the self. This work explores conflict and opposition in core narratives about the self, illuminating a personality that is more divided and multifarious than singular or integrated. An interview and scaling procedure, the Personality Web Protocol, has been developed to study people's identity representations. Dr Raggatt has also conducted research on transport ergonomics, community response to natural disasters (stress and coping strategies), autobiographical memory process, and organisational development in non-profit organisations. He is currently supervising PhD dissertations in the fields of personality and social psychology.
