The Townsville Hospital and Health Service (THHS) and the Mater Hospital and Health Service (MaterHS) are teaching hospitals of James Cook University. Townsville Clinical School (located at both The Townsville Hospital and Mater campuses) acts as the principal base for the last three years of the University’s Medical Program and the final year of the Physician Assistant program in Townsville. The two clinical school campuses are the primary support point for placements and clinical training for students in MBBS years 4, 5, 6 and Physician Assistant Year 3.
Security arrangements are made for you by the Clinical School. It is important to arrange to contact and report to the Clinical School reception, so we help you decide if you need security clearance and we can help you with the forms, orient you to the School and help you obtain any wider information.
The Health library is co-located at TTH campus. Short-term online access can be arranged to the JCU library.
