Bio-Medical Sciences and Applications (BMSA)

Overview

The Bio-Medical Sciences and Applications group at James Cook University includes members from Medicine and Dentistry, Engineering and Physical Sciences, and the Advanced Analytical Centre.

The goal of the BMSA is to take a multidisciplinary approach to projects involving reactions between biological components and artificial substrates. Current projects include the innovative use of novel materials for medical implants, joint prosthesis design, and the evaluation (structural strength, surface composition) of materials used in medical implants.
