Payment of Fees

Payment of fees are made through the JCU payment portal. Note JCU only supports VISA or Mastercard transactions.

If you receive an offer, the letter of offer will contain the link to make the final clinical elective placement fee.

Placement Cost

There are two types of costs associated with the Clinical Elective Placement: an application fee and a placement fee.

Application Fee

The application fee is a non-refundable payment of AUD $200. The payment is made during the on-line application process. This payment is not refundable under any circumstance once the application has been submitted and processed.

Note: Students who are enrolled at a university in Queensland, University of Western Australia, and University of New South Wales are exempt from the application fee. There is a check box available during the process.

Reminder: If considering applying it is strongly suggested the applicant ensures the Clinical Elective Placement Indemnity form is signed by their university. Refer to the Supporting Documentation page of this website for more information.

Placement fee for international Medicine / Dentistry Student Applicants

The placement fee for any placement between two to eight weeks in length is AUD $1000.

When the applicant receives an offer, the applicant has seven days to respond via email advising acceptance of the offer. Payment must be made at this time to confirm the acceptance.

Placement fee for Australian Medicine / Dentistry Student Applicants

Students who are enrolled at a university in Queensland, University of Western Australia, and University of New South Wales are exempt from the placement fee.

For all other Universities in Australia, an elective placement:

  • between four to eight weeks in length attracts a placement fee of $500

  • fewer than four weeks duration - no placement fee

When the applicant receives an offer, the applicant has seven days to responds via email advising acceptance of the offer. Payment must be made at this time to confirm the acceptance.
