What on-campus accommodation is available to JCU Pharmacy students?
Living on campus is a great way to meet new people and experience all that uni life has to offer. JCU has a variety of accommodation options at JCU Townsville, Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas, JCU Cairns, Nguma-bada campus, Smithfield and Mackay.
Townsville accommodation options:
- UniLodge JCU Halls of Residence: Catered accommodation from $349.00 per week or self-catered from $199.00 per week.
Cairns accommodation options:
- UniLodge JCU’s John Grey Hall: Self-catered accommodation from $189 per week.
Mackay accommodation options:
- JCU Mackay Student Residential College: Here you’ll share with other students from JCU’s College of Medicine and Dentistry. Accommodation is self-catering, with a fee of $100 per week which covers room, electricity and internet costs. There are limited rooms available in Mackay. Find out more about Mackay accommodation.
On-Campus accommodation is an all-in-one fee – meaning that accommodation outgoings (including electricity, water and internet) are all included, and no bond is payable.
Living on campus connects and enhances the learning environment, provides a safe and supportive home for residents, has a vibrant community lifestyle, and supports educational endeavours and encourages the creation of new friendships and experiences. JCU Students who live on campus have been proven to outperform non-residents.

Frequently asked questions about JCU Pharmacy accommodation
I’m studying pharmacy from Cairns or Mackay and need a weeks accommodation in Townsville for my residential classes once a semester.
No problem, we have matched our semester rates and weekly rates so you can have affordable accommodation on the JCU Townsville, Bebegu Yumba campus during the week-long semester residential. There are self-catering and catered options – both at a reasonable rate. This is a cost effective and stress-free accommodation option for that short duration stay!
I stay in uni accommodation in Cairns or Mackay during the semester – will I have to pay for accommodation in Townsville for the residential?
If you live at John Grey Hall and need to stay in Townsville for a week or two, we will cover your accommodation. Stay at JCU Halls of Residence and you will only pay for meals $100 per week (if you choose a catered option) and a $82 departure fee when you leave (to cover cleaning).
