Marine Biology & Aquaculture Scholarships and Bursaries

We have a range of scholarships and bursaries available to students undertaking aquaculture and marine biology related studies at JCU at undergraduate to postgraduate levels. A full list of JCU scholarships can be found here.

Students studying marine biology and aquaculture are also awarded a number of prizes each year for first, second and third year undergraduate students. A full list of these prizes is available here.

Scholarships and Bursaries through JCU

Dean's Bursary

Open to: Australian citizens, full time, undergraduate, who completed Year 12 with OP Score of 2 or above (or the equivalent from another Australian state)
Value: $2,000
Opening date: Approx. November each year.

Dean’s Scholarship

Open to: Australian citizens, full time, undergraduate, who completed Year 12 with OP Score of 1 (or the equivalent from another Australian state)
Value: $10,000
Opening date: Approx. November each year.

ER Walker Bequest Bursary

Open to: honours or postgraduate students undertaking research on stinging jellyfish (Class Cubozoa)
Value: $2,500

Joyce and George Vaughan Bequest Scholarship

Open to: Masters or PhD students undertaking research in Marine Biology
Value: $16,000
