College of Science and Engineering Prize

Awarded to the graduating student who has obtained the highest average weighted score in the College of Science and Engineering.

Value of the prize: $300.00

Division of Tropical Environments and Societies Distinguished Student Prize

Awarded to any student of exceptional merit, within the Division, who do not qualify for the award of a University medal but who have a first class honours degree and an excellent undergraduate weighted average score.

Value of the prize: $500.00

Science First-Year Prize

Awarded to the student, who in the opinion of the Teaching & Learning Committee, has been the most outstanding level 1 student in Science disciplines that year.

Value of the prize: $250.00

Townsville & District University Society Prize

Awarded to the student who, in the opinion of the Divisional Committee, has been the most outstanding level 1 student in the Division that year.

Value of the prize: $200.00

Discipline Prizes

Laing Exploration Mapping Prize

$400 for the Earth Science student who exhibits exceptional talent in field geology through a BSc Honours thesis or from a third year mapping project as part of a BSc,  Bachelor of Geology or graduate diploma degree.

Sandvik Third Year Prize

$1000 to the best overall and continuing student enrolled in the Bachelor of Geology degree, who completed third year Geology subjects in the previous year

MMG Limited Geology Prize (Cairns)

$500 to the Cairns campus student who achieve the best overall result in the subject EA1110 (Evolution of the Earth)

MMG Limited Geology Prize (Townsville)

$500 to the Townsville campus student who achieve the best overall result in the subject EA1110 (Evolution of the Earth)

Michael McLellan Memorial Prize

$500 book voucher to the Earth Science student who demonstrates the most improvement on completion of second or third year Earth Science subjects

PNG Mineral Resource Authority Prize

$400 to the student who has shown the best overall ability in level 3 geology subjects

Port of Townsville Limited Prize in Marine Sedimentology

$200 to the Townsville campus student who obtains the highest pass in level 3 sedimentology
