Academic Requirements for Course Completion
Credit points | 12 – 36 credit points (Requirements vary according to students’ English proficiency at entry.) |
Course learning outcomes | On successful completion of General English, graduates will be able to: - Speak logically and clearly on a variety of topics in an organised and confident manner - Summarise and paraphrase texts using complex and compound sentences - Understand and synthesise spoken and written input - Produce cohesive written work on relevant topics using appropriate academic vocabulary - Read extensively and critically on general and academic topics |
Course completion requirements | Completion of GE Introductory: Exit score of 60% fulfils the language entry requirement for GE Level 1/Level 1 for Foundation. Completion of GE Level 1: Exit score of 60% fulfils the language entry requirement for GE Level 2/Level 2 for Foundation. Completion of GE Level 2: Exit score of 60% fulfils the language entry requirement to the EAP Level 2; and an exit score of 75% equates to an IELTS 5.5 and fulfils the language entry requirement to the Diploma of Higher Education. |
