Graduate Diploma (AQF Level 8)

Completion of an AQF level 7 bachelor degree in nursing or equivalent qualification and;
Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or equivalent registration with the relevant registering authority for applicants outside Australia.
Minimum English language proficiency requirements
Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 3a – Schedule II of the JCU Admissions Policy.
Applicants must have completed a minimum of one year of full-time clinical experience (or part-time equivalent) as a registered nurse.

Students may apply for advanced standing for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Advanced Standing and Articulation policy and associated procedures
12 credit points (maximum 12 credit points for formal studies; maximum 6 credit points for Recognised Prior Learning [RPL]).
Advanced standing will be granted only for subjects completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course
Advanced standing gained for any subject shall be cancelled 15years after the date of the examination upon which the advanced standing is based if, by then, the student has not completed this course.

Students who exit the course prior to completion, and have successfully completed 12 credit points of appropriate subjects, may be eligible for the award of Graduate Certificate of Nursing
Students who complete this course are eligible for entry to the Master of Nursing, and may be granted advanced standing for all subjects completed under this course
