Professional Accreditation Status
One subject within this course is accredited by LEADR (or any other Recognised Mediator Accreditation Body) - LB5501 Facilitative Mediation Practice. This subject covers the education and training requirements of the National Mediator Accreditation Standards - to get accredited, students must also pass the competency-based assessment (Mediation Accreditation Workshop, professional development (this is not part of the JCU subject).
One subject is also accredited by Conflict Coaching International - LB5527 Conflict Coaching. This subject covers the education and training requirements for accreditation as a REAL Conflict Coach through Conflict Coaching International. Students also need to complete a portfolio and a video-recorded competency-based assessment (this is not part of the JCU subject).

Completion of an AQF level 7 bachelor degree from this or another university; or
Other qualifications or practical experience recognised by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Division of Tropical Environments and Societies as equivalent to the above.
Minimum English language proficiency requirements
Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 1 – Schedule II of the JCU Admissions Policy.

Supplementary exam for final subject
A student who has failed a single subject towards the award in their final teaching period and who gained 40% or more of the marks for that subject, may be granted a supplementary examination in that subject. However if that subject is required for accreditation, then the criteria specified by that accreditation will apply.
Students may apply for a credit transfer for previous tertiary study or informal and non-formal learning in accordance with the Credit Transfer Procedure

Credit will be granted only for studies completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course.
Credit gained for any subject shall be cancelled 13 years after the date of the examination upon which the credit is based if, by then, the student has not completed the course.
Credit will not be granted for undergraduate studies or for work experience that is used to gain admission to the course.
