Nursing is the science of professional caring and offers a wide variety of employment opportunities to promote and restore health, to prevent illness and to alleviate suffering
Mid-year entry into the Bachelor of Nursing Science will take 3.5 years to complete. During this time you will benefit from an increase in student study choices with 3 optional majors to choose from. They are:
Rural and Remote Health Major
Mental Health Major
Evidence Based Practice Major
Throughout the degree you will undertake residential and clinical placements and be involved in Professional Experience Workshops to better link your theory with practice. The study experience will culminate with a Capstone subject studied in your final year which includes a 30 day Professional Experience Placement followed by a return to the university for your final week of study. This will allow the best possible transition into the workforce.
Contact your Divisional Enrolment Team if you have applied for credit for previous study - your study plan will be different.
* Please note that due to course progression rules, students entering midyear will be required to undertake their first and third teaching periods as a part-time workload. The remainder of the course is able to be studied as either part-time or full-time.
This is intended as a guide for planning your studies. For official course requirements and Award Rules, please refer to the Course and Subject Handbook.
