Student Placements and Projects

Student placements and projects are central to JCU’s learning and teaching approaches.

Our students have the opportunity to take part in a wide-range of hands-on experiences which are informed by industry best practice and designed to prepare for the future of work. The College of Business, Law and Governance offers a Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) program designed to develop and integrate employability skills into programs of study by increasing the interaction of industry and students through WIL experiences.

Find out more about our Law Placements and Projects from our students and industry partners below, or view the JCU Student Placements page for current projects and more information.

JCU’s inaugural legal hackathon: 'Leĝathon'
“Leĝathon” is an initiative of JCU Law that aims to introduce students from a variety of disciplines to design thinking and its application to problems sourced from the local legal industry. Students used design thinking to solve problems around legal issues faced by communities in the tropics, such as improving access to legal services for people who struggle with illiteracy, and coordinating the storage of important legal documents. The activity was a huge success and received overwhelming student feedback.
JCU Partners with Accenture for Work Integrated Learning
