Pharmacists are extremely important members of the healthcare team as they work with doctors, nurses and other health professionals to assist in improving the health and wellbeing of people. With a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from JCU you will be able to work anywhere in Australia.
When you undertake the four year Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at JCU, you will graduate with extensive knowledge about the practical use of medicines; preventative health care strategies and excellent communication skills, all of which combine to ensure you are ‘work ready’ after graduation. Throughout the course you will have the opportunity to speak to volunteer patients who will role play pharmacy scenarios so as to improve your communication skills. The course is proud to offer students the opportunity to gain work experience in various pharmacy work environments. You will have the opportunity to work in rural pharmacy practice, in a community pharmacy and in a hospital setting.
JCU pharmacy students have excelled in State and National competitions, with JCU students winning four out of the last ten Queensland Pharmacy student of the year awards. Students have also won National Pharmacy student of the year awards, Qld and National Intern of the year awards and the prestigious Professor James Dare Pharmacy student of the year.
