This one-year, full-time course will equip you with advanced skills in applied psychology and research skills to advance your career in psychological science or open doors to a PhD. The Master of Psychological Science is an AQF Level 9 Masters by Coursework degree. It is a non-accredited pathway—it will not lead toward registration as a psychologist—but it will provide you with important psychology-based knowledge and skills to thrive in your career or PhD.

JCU’s Master of Psychological Science gives you the contemporary knowledge and leadership skills to work in a broad range of industries. The program is designed for people interested in using psychological theory and knowledge in business, without seeking registration as a psychologist.
Graduates may pursue careers in consulting and market research, government corporations, and universities. Examples of future roles may include organisational development consultant, management consultant, change manager, change analyst, human resources manager, or human factors specialist.

Course pre-requisites | Completion of an AQF level 7 psychology-based bachelor degree at this or another University within the past 10 years; or Other qualifications/experience deemed to be equivalent, as approved by the Deputy-Vice Chancellor, Division of Tropical Health and Medicine. |
Minimum English language proficiency requirements | Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of Band 1 – Schedule II of the JCU Admissions Policy. |
Additional selection | Information published by JCU or otherwise made available to students when applying, may specify additional criteria to be considered in ranking applicants in order of merit if the number of applications exceeds a quota or other limit on the places made available for the course. A Student Services and Amenities Fee is payable per subject up to a maximum amount per year.
