The Quality, Planning and Analytics Directorate works with the Academy and the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic (Academic and Student Life) to ensure alignment with the requirements of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) and the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) regulates Australian education and training standards. All higher-education providers are expected to comply with the AQF, as it is part of TEQSA’s Threshold Standards.

The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) is an independent regulatory and quality agency for higher education in Australia. TEQSA’s primary goal is to ensure all Australian higher education providers offer students a high quality education. TEQSA registers providers and carries out evaluations of standards and performance against the Higher Education Standards Framework, which includes the Australian Qualifications Framework (see next section AQF).
TEQSA Act 2011 and TEQSA Threshold Standards Framework
The Higher Education Standards Panel (HESP) is an expert Advisory Body established under the TEQSA Act 2011. The Panel was established to provide independent advice to the Commonwealth Minister(s) responsible for tertiary education and research. The Panel reviewed the Threshold Standards between April and July2014.

Professor Kerri-Lee Krause (UWS) visited JCU in May 2012. Her presentation was titled: You and the TEQSA Standards: What does it mean for you on Monday? [video 1 hr 16mins] and PPT. This workshop examined the TEQSA threshold standards as they relate to learning, teaching and curriculum design.
