Diploma of Higher Education Fees and Dates
Fees and Dates
Get ready for James Cook University (JCU) by adding important dates into your calendar for campus Induction Days and Readiness Assessments.
Welcome - Induction: Orientation Week
The Diploma Welcome - Induction is designed to prepare you for University life, where you will meet the Diploma staff and your fellow students.
What to bring:
- A pen and notepad.
- There are water bubblers available, please feel free to bring a refillable water bottle.
- Lunch will be provided.

- When: Monday February 17 2020, 10.00am to 5:00pm

Official Welcome
The Diploma Official Welcome to JCU gives you the opportunity to meet our Student Mentors, join a guided tour of the campus and the Library, and meet our Diploma Academic Staff and join them for an interactive academic activity session. Welcome Day is now combined with the Induction, please see details above.
Class Registration Assistance Session
We can assist you with registering for your classes and organising your timetable.
If you are unable to attend the session please email: pathways@jcu.edu.au to arrange an alternative time.
Townsville Campus: 24th January 2020, arrive between 10:00am - 11:00am, Building 142, Room 20.
Cairns Campus: 24th January 2020, arrive between 10:00am - 11:00am, Room to be advised.
Readiness Assessment
The Readiness Assessment is compulsory for Pathways students to complete prior to the semester commencing.
It is an online tool used to assess your readiness for academic study. This will have no bearing on your acceptance or enrolment to JCU.
If you cannot make one of the times below please email: pathways@jcu.edu.au to arrange an alternative time.
Townsville Campus
- Where: Building 2, Rm 104 on the 11th December and Building 142, Rm 20 on January and February dates.
- Allow approx. 1 to 1.5 hours to complete
Please note you must have accepted your offer to study in the Diploma to attend.
Attend one session only from the dates listed below:
- Wednesday, 11th December 2019, arrive anytime between 1:00 and 3:00pm (Building 2, Rm 104)
- Thursday, 30th January 2020, arrive anytime between 1:00 and 3:00pm (Building 142, Rm 20)
- Wednesday, 4th February 2020, arrive anytime between 1:00pm and 3:00pm (Building 142, Rm 20)
- Thursday, 12th February 2020, arrive anytime between 10:00am and 12:00pm (Building 142, Rm 20)
- Thursday 20th February 2020, arrive anytime between 10:00am and 12:00pm (Building 142, Rm 20)
Once you have completed the Readiness Assessment, Pathways staff can assist you with your study plan and subject enrolments.
